Does J.L. King = DL?
Firstly, I apologize for using space for this article...but someone must say it!
As some of you may know, J.L. King author of On the Down Low has recently published a new book Coming Up from the Down Low. His ex-wife has also thrown her hat into the ring with a book that supposedly tells women how to identify and handle being with a man on the DL. I don't know about you guys, but from the first time I saw J.L. King on Oprah there was something fishy about the brutha. I don't profess to be DL...but he is certainly not what comes to mind when I think of my DL bruthas. J.L. King is simply a brutha who was either in denial or simply trying to hide his sexuality, however he is severely lacking in the attributes that make up a DL brutha. Now he and his ex-wife are trying to milk the unassuming public for all they can by creating this stir. (I'm not sure I can blame his ex though...I mean he did expose all of her business too.) What is the consensus of this guy? What do you guys think?

I can't be MAD at the brotha, he saw a way of making a lot of money because no one else had brought the subject to the front line. I can only speak for myself.I don't care enough bout DL fellas of ANY RACE to WASTEFULLY SPEND MY MONEY on a book about em.

He is a FAKE and it is quite obvious when you read the book, see him on TV and just sit back and let it simmer. much as been said about mr. king he just dont speak for me, i dont consider myself a dl brother, or none of that bull shit. I like guys and i am not ashame to tell it. i think if more of us was honest with our sexuality we could live better and live longer.
jl king looks like a closet fag. i wouldnt buy his book, after he caught the plague then he got something to say, what an asshole, dont tell me shit after the effects. i wouldnt have know any thing about this guy until he found out he was hiv positive. i wish we would learn how to love and stop being unfair and untrue to ourselve about the way we feel. if there any real brothers out there that is not on that down low bull shit who wants a real hiv negative older masculine none sissy acting brother here i am (Thomas)

I feel about him the same way I do about the runaway bride. Why are they even getting any media time? this guy obviously is trying to profit from something that is a serious issue with our community. I personally cant see myself wasting money on a loser like this.

to whom it may concern i read your comments, i think most of you are dead wrong for being so critical of mr king because he had the balls and the courage to expose this lifestyle that has effected so many lives.i think that most of you have a problem with this because most of you are convicted by his courage to take a stand against this lifestyle. most of you guys or angry dl brothas that stand the fact you are exposed,also now you have to face the reality that you are gay men and your irresponsible actions or effecting an entire community.so don't get mad at mr.king deal with the reality, and just own it.

i honestly dont care. i have no real bad things to say about him. im not dl, but im confident enough to not let this life tear me apart. i really dont understand why most people hate him. is it because he's exposed what most "dl" men would do to pick up gay men? or is it because he had the balls to come out? i see it as this. he's ruined all dl brothas game, plain an simple. and now that its so much out there, wemon arent being as blind to it as they used to be. ive met some dl men and theyve been a trip, theres a such thing as being in the closet, then therees a thing such as being so scared you can get punked if it falls into the wrong hands.
